Join us at the Fire Hydrant 5K June 3!
Calling all four-legged friends in northern Colorado…it’s time for the Fire Hydrant 5K! This annual race has benefited the Larimer Humane Society for more than 25 years, and Burt’s Logo Apparel is proud to be a part of this exciting event on Saturday, June 3. Here are all the details you need to know:
All animal lovers who want to benefit a good cause are invited to this race! Pooches are welcomed too, but please keep in mind that they must be well-behaved, leashed on a six-foot or shorter non-retractable leashed and be up to date on their vaccinations. If your dog tends to get a little anxious in large crowds, this may not be the event for them since there will be 500 dogs and 1,000 people in attendance.
In addition to the 5K race, all are invited to attend the Paws on the Promenade Expo during and following the race. Numerous vendors will have booths set up (including Burt’s!), and there will be opportunities to win fun prizes through dog demonstrations and contests. Plus, the event will have adoptable pets onsite, live entertainment, a “Kid Zone” and more!

All race participants will receive stylin’ race t-shirts, designed by Burt’s of course! We hope you will join us in supporting the Larimer Humane Society and all the furry friends in our community.
The Face Behind the Biz: Meet Jane!
You may know her as the friendly voice on the other end of the line when you place a t-shirt order, but we know her as Jane, the guts and glue of the operation. Burt’s Logo Apparel wouldn’t be the same without our office manager (who also happens to be Burt’s sister!), so we thought it was high time for you to get to know a bit about her:
When did you start working at Burt’s Logo Apparel and what is your role?
I started working at Burt’s in 1999. As the office manager, my duties are varied but I mainly work with customers to place their orders.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of my job are the customers! I have met a lot of really wonderful people through my job at Burt’s, and we have a great customer base made up of good people!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Most people I work with through Burt’s probably don’t know that my job here is my third career. I graduated from CSU with a Social Work degree and worked in that field for a little while. I then worked in banking for 23 years and performed just about every job at the bank except maybe the president. My job at Burt’s has been a mix of using my past work experience and building on that with new knowledge that I have acquired about the garment decorating industry.
What is your funniest work memory?
The funniest memory I have at work is when my lap top caught on fire when I was using it! Wow – what a surprise! Needless to say, that was a unique experience.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The superpower I would like to have is the ability to fly. I have always thought that would be super cool!
What famous person would you like to meet and what would you ask them?
There are two famous people that come to mind who I would like to meet – Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart. They are both self-made successful businesswomen, and I admire that very much. Plus, they are both very creative. I would ask them when they knew they were going to transition from an ordinary person to a super successful one and how they handle their success and grow with it. That would be an interesting conversation!
There you have it! Next time you place an order with Burt’s, be sure to tell Jane hello (and maybe ask her if she has a fire extinguisher next to her laptop).
