Partner Spotlight: Partners Mentoring Youth
As a community-focused business that has served Northern Colorado for more than 30 years, we always love supporting local nonprofits. We had the opportunity to chat with our friend, Brittany, Development Coordinator at Partners Mentoring Youth, and we’d love for you to learn more about this incredible organization.
What is Partners Mentoring Youth’s mission and how do you serve the community?
Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social, and academic lives. We put our mission into action by matching mentors with local youth throughout Northern Colorado. Our mentoring programs take place in the larger community and in schools in Fort Collins/Loveland, Estes Park, and Greeley. Through the implementation of best practices, we have found that our mentoring programs increase self-esteem and confidence, decrease delinquency, increase academic performance, and grow the ability to plan for the future!
How long has Partners worked with Burt’s Logo Apparel?
We have been working with Burt’s Logo Apparel for 11 years.
What events does Partners execute throughout the year?
Partners executes five annual events. We have a three-race series that includes the Sharin’ O’ the Green in Fort Collins, the Fiesta 5K in Greeley, and the Running of the Bulls in Estes Park. We have a gala called Party for Partners in June, which features auctions and a festive atmosphere with music, food and drinks. Be the Difference, a giving luncheon, takes place in October in Greeley and highlights the support of local businesses through a giving and networking opportunity. We also hold smaller events throughout the year to increase awareness of our mission and partner with local businesses. One of these events will take place on January 26th at Odell Brewing for National Mentoring Month.
How does having branded apparel at these events help communicate your message to local audiences?
The shirts are such an important part of our races! Not only do our participants appreciate them, but they help us share our mission and market the race. We love to see people out and about town wearing our swag! Everyone especially loves the technical running shirt. Knowing that these shirts are a local production means a lot to us because we are serving local kids. The money we are investing in local business is creating a better community for the kids we serve.
What made you choose Burt’s over other logo branding businesses in northern Colorado?
We wanted to bring our money back to Fort Collins. This is a local race and we believe that our shirts should also be a reflection of our pride in the community. Also, I enjoy walking into Burt’s and seeing people I know. I’m not calling some impersonal production company where there is not the opportunity to build relationships. When I call Burt’s, I know who I’m talking to and they know me. I’ve met the Burt’s crew and they are great!
How can people get involved with Partners and support its mission?
We have so many ways people can get involved. We have more than 100 youth waiting for a mentor. Being a positive role model in the life of youth is so important and we know that it changes lives. Participating in our races, such as Sharin’ O’ the Green, is also a great way to be the difference. All race proceeds go right back to Partners and help us continue serving local youth in Fort Collins/Loveland, Greeley, and Estes Park. Financial support is huge. Providing financial support through donations is a considerable way to support our mission. Lastly, interacting with us through social media is a fun way to support what we are doing in Northern Colorado.
There you have it! Be sure to keep Partners in mind the next time you are looking for a volunteering or giving opportunity in Fort Collins.
